Located at the heart of the Vietnamese American Community Center, VACA offers ESL instruction that evolves with the changing needs of English language learners. Our experienced instructors, dedicated staff, and comprehensive curriculum ensure a supportive and effective learning environment for all students. With tailored programs, VACA addresses disparities within the Vietnamese community, helping individuals overcome language barriers and achieve their full potential.
Our Commitment and Experience
With three decades of experience, VACA has a proven track record of success in providing ESL instruction. Our classes include three levels: Beginner-1, Beginner-2, and Intermediate, accommodating 15 students each. Moreover, we conduct comprehensive citizenship instruction classes to guide immigrants on their path to becoming U.S. citizens. Our impressive 80% pass rate in the naturalization test showcases the effectiveness of our programs.

Massachusetts hosts a significant Vietnamese population, with Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood being a vibrant hub. VACA serves this community with tailored programs that address language barriers, income disparities, and educational gaps. ESL Class Levels
Our ESL program caters to learners of different proficiency levels:
- Beginner-1: Designed for those taking their first steps in English language learning.
- Beginner-2: Building on the foundation of Beginner-1, this level introduces more complex language concepts.
- Intermediate: For learners with a solid grasp of Basic English, aiming to enhance their skills further.
Each class is sized up to 20 students ensuring personalized attention and effective learning of every student.
Program Structure
Our ESL Instruction program is structured to provide comprehensive language learning experiences for different levels of proficiency. Here’s a glimpse of our beginner 1 & 2 class curriculum:
- Week 1-2: Introduction and Basic Vocabulary
- Week 3-4: Grammar and Sentence Structure
- Week 5-6: Reading Comprehension
- Week 7-8: Listening and Speaking
- Week 9-10: Writing Skills and Review
Supplemental materials, such as vocabulary resources, grammar guides, and online platforms, enhance the learning experience and offer diverse opportunities for practice.
